Adrian Rusi Jr., founder of Bridges to Diplomacy for the Youth, is a high school student at Staten Island Academy with a strong passion for diplomacy, international relations, and cultural heritage. Inspired by the legacy of his grandfather, Mr. Ilir Rusi, whose lifelong work in international relations shaped his worldview, Adrian Jr. has dedicated himself to creating opportunities for his peers to engage in global affairs while celebrating their roots.
Through Bridges to Diplomacy for the Youth, Adrian Jr. aims to empower Albanian-American youth in New York City to strengthen their cultural identity—particularly the heritage of Albania, Kosovo, and North Macedonia—while developing essential skills in diplomacy, international relations, and civic leadership. Guided by the organization’s mission, he believes that by providing hands-on experiences, cultural education, and opportunities for global engagement, young people can grow into confident changemakers who both honor their heritage and shape the future.
As a student leader, Adrian Jr. is committed to bridging culture and diplomacy, helping his generation connect, learn, and lead in meaningful ways.
“As a proud Albanian-American, I believe it’s important for young people like us to not only know where we come from, but also how to lead where we’re going. Through this initiative, I want to help our generation understand our culture, learn global diplomacy, and step into leadership roles that make a difference."
